Our Philosophy and Values
Our school community is built on eight guiding values—our Core 8

At Edullect Academy, we believe that every human being has inherent worth and purpose. Our foundation is rooted in a deep spiritual belief in God (Allah) as the Creator of all things—seen and unseen—and in the timeless guidance brought through His messengers. These teachings promote justice, compassion, integrity, and the equality of all people.
A key inspiration for our philosophy is drawn from the Quran (49:13), which says:
“O humanity! We created you from a single male and female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Truly, the most honoured of you in the sight of God is the most righteous. Surely, God is All-Knowing, All-Aware.”
This message speaks not only to Muslims but to all of humanity. It reflects our belief that diversity is a strength, and that through mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to good character, we build a stronger, more compassionate society.
Edullect Academy welcomes pupils of all faiths and of none. While our ethos is shaped by Islamic principles, we promote an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included.
Our Educational Philosophy
Edullect Academy’s educational philosophy integrates the "Core 8" Islamic values—compassion, faith, forgiveness, generosity, honesty, inclusion, modesty, and respect—with a strong commitment to academic excellence and personal growth. By aligning these values with both Islamic teachings and British values, the Academy fosters a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful environment. Through evidence-based pedagogy, culturally responsive teaching, and a rigorous curriculum, students are encouraged to think critically, act and lead ethically, and contribute meaningfully to society. Edullect values student voice and diversity, preparing learners to navigate complex global challenges with knowledge, faith, integrity, resilience, and purpose.
The Core 8: Living Our Shared Values
At the heart of our community are eight guiding values—our Core 8—which form the basis of character development and positive contribution to society. These values align with both Islamic teachings and universal human values:
01
Compassion
Showing empathy, care, and concern for others.
02
Faith
Developing a deeper understanding of one’s own beliefs and respecting the beliefs of others. For Muslims, this includes practicing Islamic ideals with sincerity and purpose.
03
Forgiveness
Cultivating patience, understanding, and the ability to forgive.
04
Generosity
Giving time, kindness, and support to others selflessly.
05
Honesty
Acting with integrity, truthfulness, and a sense of moral responsibility.
06
Inclusion
Embracing diversity and actively involving those who may be different from ourselves.
07
Modesty
Practicing humility in action, appearance, and thought.
08
Respect
Valuing every individual and engaging with others in a spirit of dignity and openness.
These values are not just taught—they are lived. They help shape our interactions, guide our teaching, and create a nurturing atmosphere where everyone can thrive.
Faith in Action, Open to All
Our faith-based approach offers a strong moral compass, grounded in the Quran and the example of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). For our Muslim community, this spiritual foundation helps us live a life of gratitude, balance, and purpose—through family life, education, healthy living, acts of kindness, and daily routines that reflect worship in everyday actions.
Yet, these values resonate universally. Whether a pupil follows a different faith or none, our philosophy encourages all learners to seek meaning, contribute positively to the world, and grow as ethical, compassionate individuals.
Embracing British Values
As a British school, we actively promote British Values, ensuring all pupils become respectful, responsible citizens. These values naturally complement our Core 8 and reflect our commitment to a cohesive and respectful society:
- Democracy – Encouraging participation, voice, and shared decision-making.
- The Rule of Law – Recognising the importance of rules in building a safe, fair, and orderly environment.
- Individual Liberty – Supporting personal freedoms while respecting the rights of others.
- Mutual Respect and Tolerance – Understanding that we may hold different beliefs, and learning to honour those differences while building unity through shared values.

At Edullect Academy, we are more than a school—we are a diverse learning community where values and learning go hand-in-hand, and where every child is guided to develop a strong sense of identity, purpose, and belonging.
