Our school is rooted in values of compassion, excellence, and community
Edullect Academy began in July 2018 as a non-profit initiative to support children with high-quality Quran and Islamic education. Founded by Shah Sher Ali in the London Borough of Havering, the academy originally offered after-school classes in local school classrooms, before transitioning to an online platform during the Covid-19 pandemic. This shift allowed us to enhance the quality of teaching while offering greater flexibility to families.
With a low pupil-teacher ratio of 4:1 and a focus on individual progress, our dedicated team—including qualified teachers and experienced volunteers—has nurtured a small, close-knit learning environment. Over 90% of our students return year after year, a testament to the trust and satisfaction of families in our care.
In 2023, Edullect Academy took a bold step toward a bigger vision: to establish a chain of independent schools, starting with the first in Havering. As part of this transition, Quran and Islamic studies were moved to a new, fully independent platform—Edullect Madrasa—now led by co-founder Hafiz Shah Ali Faez. This madrasa has already seen remarkable achievements, including students completing Hifz and earning ijazah in Quranic recitation.

Edullect Academy is now an independent educational institution, specialising in Nursery, Primary, and Secondary education. While rooted in values of compassion, excellence, and community, the Academy’s vision has evolved to meet the broader educational needs of families. With over three decades of experience in the education sector, Shah Sher Ali, founder of Edullect Academy, has dedicated his life to the growth and development of young minds who will positively impact the society. His journey spans teaching, leadership, and community service, all rooted in a deep commitment to educational excellence and social impact.
