A curriculum rooted in excellence, guided by faith, and designed for purposeful learning
Our Curriculum Intent
C-R-I-T-I-C-A-L
At Edullect Academy, the curriculum intent outlines the guiding purpose behind what and how students learn. It reflects the values and goals that shape the educational experience. Our curriculum intent, expressed through the "C-R-I-T-I-C-A-L" framework, is designed to foster well-rounded individuals who are ready to thrive in a fast-changing world. This approach emphasises key areas such as creativity, resilience, independence, and technological readiness, along with inclusivity, collaboration, action, and leadership. Through this framework, we aim to support students in developing both strong academic foundations and the life skills needed to succeed beyond the classroom.
How We Bring the C-R-I-T-I-C-A-L Framework to Life at Edullect Academy
At Edullect Academy, our curriculum is carefully designed to help children grow into confident, curious, and capable learners. Here's how we bring the C-R-I-T-I-C-A-L values into their everyday learning:
Learning Through Play and Creativity
We encourage imagination and creative thinking through storytelling, art, music, and play-based learning, helping children express themselves and try new ideas.
Building Confidence and Resilience
Children are supported to keep trying, even when things are tricky. We celebrate effort, teach them how to handle mistakes positively, and help them set simple, meaningful goals.
Encouraging Independence
From choosing their own activities to helping with classroom routines, children are given age-appropriate choices that help them feel responsible and proud of their learning.
Exploring Technology Safely
Our children enjoy using age-appropriate technology, like tablets and interactive boards, to support learning. We also begin to introduce safe and responsible use of digital tools.
Creating an Inclusive Environment
Every child is unique, and we make sure our activities suit different learning styles, languages, and needs—so every child feels included and supported.
Working and Playing Together
We help children learn how to share, take turns, listen, and work in teams—building strong social skills that help them succeed in and out of the classroom.
Learning to Take Action
Children are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and act on their learning—for example, through class projects, eco-initiatives, or helping others.
Developing Early Leadership Skills
We give children small leadership roles—like line leaders or classroom helpers—to help them grow in confidence, take responsibility, and care for others.
Creativity
Encourages innovative thinking and practical problem-solving beyond traditional boundaries.
Resilience
Builds perseverance, self-reflection, and ambition to help students overcome challenges.
